ANZAC Eve Concert - Queensland Symphony Orchestra

Background: The acronym for ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps, whose soldiers  fought at Gallipoli in the Ottoman Empire during World War I were known as Anzacs. ANZAC day, 25th April (day Anzacs landed in Gallipoli) every year, marks the anniversary of the first campaign that led to major casualties and honouring the members of ANZAC who fought.
On the 24th April, I attended the ANZAC Eve Concert presented by Queensland Symphony Orchestra (QSO) and RSL (Queensland Branch), and supported by RACQ to honour current and ex-serving men and women, remembering those we have lost in past and present wars. Amazing first class performances by the QSO, Queensland Detatchment of the Royal Australian Navy Band, Brisbane Police Pipes and Drums,  Queensland Choir and the legendary Australian soprano Lisa Gasteen along with The Armed Man, A Mass for Peace and Songs of Sanctuary by Karl Jenkins, Fauré’s Requiem and music by Sibelius, Tchaikovsky and more.
